The book is in two parts; the first is a series of columns Lou Gehrig wrote during his season with the New York Yankees and the second is a brief biography of the baseball player. The first section sheds light on Gehrig's life during what may have been his greatest season. He drove in RBIs that year, a record then, batting behind Babe Ruth who cleared the bases himself with 60 home.
